I feel vindicated: Kanye West is an idiot

"Cocky rap star Kanye West is calling for a revised edition of the Bible, because he thinks he should be a character in it.

The Jesus Walks hitmaker, who picked up three Grammy Awards, feels sure he'd be "a griot" (West African storyteller) in a modern Bible.

He says, "I bring up historical subjects in a way that makes kids want to learn about them. I'm an inspirational speaker.

'I changed the sound of music more than one time... For all those reasons, I'd be a part of the Bible. I'm definitely in the history books already.'"

Don't feel the need to comment beyond his own words, really.

At least when Thomas Jefferson revised the Bible, he had a coherent (if not necessarily correct) philosophical reason for doing so.

You know, I'm actually a Kanye fan. He's positive and has a fresh sound. But "changed music"?

It wouldn't shock me if he did change a lot about the music industry. For one thing, it may (hopefully) no longer be necessary to be (or claim to be) a former gang banger/drug dealer to be a rapper anymore. But he hasn't changed it yet.

Having said that, I'm hoping that guys like Kanye and Andre 3000 are going to make it cheesy to try and put out anymore gansta rap albums.

Here's hoping!

Let's not go about bashing Kanye. Where else can an egomanical, talented and innovative person claim to be Jesus and now say he is in the Bible? Only in America. We are the land of the free and the home of the stupid sometimes.

Kanye has us talking about him. Maybe the best thing is to not give him the time of day. Although, I cannot turn off Goldigger or Jesus Walks. Maybe he is a figure of biblical proportion or just a good marketer.

I'm having a hard time picturing Larry listening to Goldigger. :) I can't even picture myself listening to Goldigger.

Er...the world's oldest teenager surely has no problem listening to Gold-whatever it's called!

I think Kanye is a sensationalist; he's playing for reaction. I there was another group who once claimed to be more popular than Jesus...they were called the Beatles! They did alright for themselves - is he just hoping to repeat their fame? I know his sound, (honestly, I can't say that it's refreshing - catchy maybe.) is much different to that of the Beatles excellence, but they took the world by storm. Although we were all offended by the words that they used in claiming that they were more popular than Jesus, looking around, I kinda think they were speaking the truth!

And another point? Does Kanya wish to be held in such high esteem as a biblical character? All of them were losers who needed Jesus, he is just another of the same?
